Who is Les Petits Livres? Les Petits Livres is a library-by-mail with a diverse collection of books in French for children aged 0 to 16 years old. We are based in Seattle but serve the fifty states of the United States.
What do you provide with your rental plan? All plans include: - free and convenient shipping both ways using the U.S. Postal Service Media Mail - no due dates, no late fees: you can keep the books as long as you want - no long term commitment: you can cancel anytime - flat monthly fee
What are the prices? Prices vary per plan. Here is a summary of our plans.
For an additional $3 per month, you have the possibility to add a Bande Dessinée to your plan and for $64.99 a year of
Storyplayr.
What type of books do you have? How big is your collection? We carry classics and newly released books in all genres. Our
books vary greatly in shape, size and weight. We have picture books in
hard covers, paperbacks, small and large books and Bandes Dessinées. Some of our books are new editions, some are out-of-print. We have fiction
and non-fiction. Our collection of over four thousands titles keeps growing every month. We have a
large selection in each age group. Our collection is presented on our website and is organized by aged groups for easy browsing.
Do you have e- books ? Through a partnership with Storyplayr, we offer a digital library of illustrated books for 3 to 10 years old. For more information about Storyplayr, see here.
How do I choose the books I want to receive? You have the choice of selecting the books yourself (through Wish List) or letting us making the selection for you.
By creating and using the Wishlist functionality, you select the titles you wish to receive and they will be mailed to you based on their availability. For details on the Wishlist, please click here.
If you want us to make the selection for you, we'll simply do that and share with you our expertise in children's French literature. We'll look at the age group, type of book and gender selected in your plan. You can also enter some additional information about the books you would or would not like to receive on the one-page check-out form. Customer satisfaction is important to us so we'll do our best to accommodate your wishes.
Please feel free to provide feedback on the books you have received or make requests for titles using the "Send Us Feedback" link at the bottom of the website or by filling out the
Feedback Form that is submitted with each shipment.
How do I leave a review?
Although
the website will automatically fill the appropriate fields in with your
name and location as they appear in your account settings, we welcome
you to leave
your child's first name and age instead.
What's your refund policy? We do not offer refunds. If you are not satisfied with our service, you have the possibility to change or cancel your rental plan at any time.
How is this economical? You should receive books (retailing for up to $35.00) from $6.50 to $3.50 per book, depending on the plan you choose, shipped to you for free. You could save up to 75% as compared to purchasing books from an on-line bookstore in France. Shipping costs are included in our rental fees.
What about books for adults ? We do not carry books for adults.
In what conditions are the books? Books are in like-new or gently-used conditions.
When will I get my books? Orders are processed from Monday to Friday from 9am to 4pm (PST). Please allow 1 to 2 business days for your order to be processed. All books are shipped via U.S. Postal Service Media Mail which takes from 3 to 10 business days depending on your location.
Do you buy books? Yes, we buy books in like-new conditions. Only books in French and for children aged 0 to 16. Please contact us if you have books to sell.
Can I offer your rental plans as a gift? You have two ways to make gifts on our website: - the first one is to buy a gift certificate that will be e-mailed or mailed to your recipient(s). They can then use this certificate to make a purchase on our site. For this option, select Make A Gift - the second option is, at check-out, to enter your information in the billing address field and the recipient's address in the shipping field and to select "This is a gift" in the additional info of the one-page check-out form.
What should I do if books arrive damaged? Please contact us immediately to report any damage to the merchandise or any shipping problems.
Can I keep the books? No,
books are to be returned. If you cancel your plan, you have 10 business
days to return the books. If after 10 days, we have not received your
books, your account will be charged a flat fee of $15 per book still in
your possession.
What if I lose a book? If you lose a book, your account will be charged for a flat fee of $15 per book.
What if I lose the mailing envelope to return the books?
Since the mailer we sent you with the books had paid postage on
it, if you lose it, you will be responsible for mailing the books back
at your own expense, using your own mailer or packaging.
