Un Noël d'Ecureuil is a simple, descriptive tale that follows a squirrel through the surprise of having his tree cut down for winter decor. Taken into a house by accident, he is permitted a first-hand view of Christmas festivities--and perhaps a visit from Père Noël himself. This is not a zany Griswald family Christmas scene, but a calm peek at Christmas Eve viewed from the tip of the tree. I love the large, full-page illustrations and sensory descriptions in this simple tale.
