4 of 5 An introduction to children's rights worldwide November 4, 2016

This book, produced with support from UNICEF, presents the story of a boy ("like you, about your age") who has the magical opportunity to meet a handful of children in sad circumstances around the globe. With magic he is able to comfort and aid each one. While simplistic, the story format allows the focus to be on children's basic needs and rights rather than on the complications of bringing help to all those who need it. The final pages of this book contain a brief description of UNICEF and the types of aid they seek to provide. There's also a list of their major principles of children's rights. Best of all, there's a CD with the text of the story read aloud along with a song about children's rights from a child's perspective. I'm hoping to find a way to purchase this song so we can enjoy learning it over time!
